The coach of Vojvodina FC, Ranko Popović, expects his team to play another good match and win the points for the end of the autumn part of the championship.

The players of the old lady is playing against the team of Voždovac on Thursday, and then comes the winter break.

  • The expectations are always the same, especially on our side. Voždovac FC is a young and aspiring team, they play nice and interesting football, and if you allow them to play their game, then you are in big trouble, because they become really dangerious. I honestly hope that we will continue in this manner, to grow from match to match, and to be concrete. For those expectations, the basis was also the match in Niš, where we played on an incredibly difficult pitch, and yet managed to show in an incredibly easy and nice way, both the quality and the beauty of what we have been working on during our training sessions. I would now appeal that we have to maintain that level and focus, and that level of competition, and then we can expect good things for Vojvodina – Popović said.

He responded to the rumours that he is leaving Vojvodina after the match with Voždovac, and the players also know that.

  • It can have different effects, but I am still here. The players know that, and they need to show that they are present, and that they didn’t go anywhere. They should be on the pitch and give their maximum, because tomorrow we represent Vojvodina. We are all still here in Vojvodina, and we should act accordingly, and end this part of the season in that way. Everything else comes after that – Popović pointed out.

The coach of Vojvodina added that he still hasn’t analyzed the last autumn.

  • We still haven’t analyzed it, because we haven’t finished the half-season, we have another game ahead. But, I have to say one thing, I would want everyone to have the cooperation and relationship with the Club’s management, and all those around us, who follow and support us. My relationship with the president of the club and with the sports director was uncertain when I arrived, but now it is on a high level, I can freely say it became a friendship, but it never surpasses the professional level, which is above all. We left the analyses for the end of the half-season, to talk about everything, and you can also analyze, because you know how things used to be, and you can compare them. I am never 100% satisfied, because I always believe it can be better, especially when I remember some matches where we deserved to win, and we didn’t. The regret for those matches remains, because if could have won some of those points, but we failed. The points we didn’t take, we can’t take them again. These three points are only on the table tomorrow, and it is up to us whether they will come to us over the winter, and that is how we should be thinking and working – Popović highlighted.

The conditions for the match at the stadium of Voždovac FC are definitely different, but they will not change Popović’s requests and relationship towards the game.

  • We will not change our requests a lot. We have to adapt to those conditions, but that will not be an alibi for someone to think that the pitch can be an excuse for someone not to play on a level they should play in Vojvodina. We will try to use those conditions to take some positive things for our play, and then we can peacefully go to the winter break, and wait for the holidays – Popović concluded.
