The coach of Vojvodina FC, Ranko Popović, is pleased with the game and the result after the victory of his team over Radnički from Niš.

The players of the old lady defeated the team of Radnički tonight at Karađorđe, with the result 3:2, and after the match, Popović once again praised his team.

  • Interesting match for the neutral sides, but for us who are more involved it was a bit more stressful. They called us out about the goals yesterday, and today the opponent scored two while we scored three, which decided the match. We have to strive towards always attacking and going forward, even if we lead 2:0, we shouldn’t withdraw. The result 2:0 is dangerous when you’re not thinking right. Each opponent in this league can punish you, there is no big difference if you let them, and we let them for some time. Yet, in the end we showed that we’re always aiming for victory. After the third goal we started to play a more offensive game, we played for the win and to show aggression and keep the ball far away from our net. We are still in the process of getting to know each other, making the game strategy is the hardest, and we have to make one as soon as possible. It is outstanding that the players from the bench brought the much-needed energy, and that resulted in the final score – Popović said.

 

Yet, he pointed out some negative sides of the game, which are acceptable and normal at this point:

  • We have to approach the game with criticism, I saw a lot of mistakes during the passes, which is the consequence of our burning desire to win, and the pressure that we feel. I wanted the players to try the final pass, and pass is the basics, like letters or writing. If we don’t know how to pass, we don’t know how to write, and then afterwards I can’t read like I should. Still, today was a lot better than the last match. We could play pass instead of dribblings, and that is all a consequence of the pressure and the desire to win. What makes me happy is that we played for the win, mistakes are an integral part of the game and we are here to correct them. The weather was difficult today, the game was demanding, and this is precisely while we’re pleased, because we rose above the situation and won. I don’t hold anything against the players, not even wrong moves when they show the desire to play, because if you don’t try, you cannot succeed. I am happy for the win, for the fans, and it is my wish that everyone enjoys our games, and that my team is as happy as they were today, which is why we will always give our all to win – Popović highlighted.
