Today, Vojvodina Football Club has engaged another big signing in this transfer window. By signing the 3-years contract, the cooperation with the Old Lady of the Serbian football was formalized by 28-years-old Nemanja Čović, who last season was the captain and the best player of Proleter from Novi Sad and who, for the second time in his career, will wear the half white, half red jersey of Vojvodina.
Nemanja Čović was born on June 18, 1991 in Novi Sad and passed through the Youth Academy Ilija Pantelić, but started his senior career in the city rival Proleter. Then, in the first part of the season 2011/12, he was briefly a member of the first team of Vojvodina, and later he appeared for Spartak, Donji Srem, Spartak Semey (Kazakhstan), Shakhtar Soligorsk (Belarus), Minsk (Belarus) and PAS Lamia (Greece). In the past year and a half, he was again a member of Proleter, for which he played 48 games in that period, scored 17 goals and recorded two assists.
The fans of Vojvodina especially remembered the great goal that he scored against Voša in the last season’s play-off match, when he beat the goalkeeper Rockov from about 25 meters distance and thus brought the minimum victory to his team at that time.
Nemanja Čović is expected to quickly join his new teammates in preparations in the Slovenian Terme Čatež and thus strengthen the competition in the attack of red and whites.
