The coach of Vojvodina FC, Ranko Popović, congratulated his team, but also the team of Novi Sad on playing an excellent city derby.
Tonight, at Karađorđe stadium, the players of Vojvodina FC won against the team of RFK Novi Sad 1921 with the result 2:0, and thereby qualified into the 1/18 finals of the Serbian Cup. Popović is pleased with his team’s performance.
– I congratulate our rivals on how they behaved and played, and the general impression is that it was a beautiful game tonight. There were a lot of fans on the stands, and the atmosphere was right. I am pleased with the attitude and decisiveness that my boys showed upon entering the match, and ending it. At any given moment you could see that we had the desire to win, and until the very end we were organized, and didn’t lose our heads, which used to happen before. For me personally, it is also important that each player on the pitch tonight gave their contribution on the road to victory. This triumph means a lot to us on multiple levels – we continued down our path from the previous games, and there were chances from which we profited. We had to replace some players because they didn’t have enough strength to give more than they did. The impressions are positive, and it is up to us to continue down that same path – Popović said.
On Sunday, November 5th, Vojvodina is playing their next game against Železničar from Pančevo, in the 14th round of the Mozzart Bet Super league of Serbia. The match begins at 3pm, and the tickets will be sold at the ticket office at Karađorđe stadium.
