Vojvodina coach Milan Rastavac is satisfied with the game and the result in the victory over Radnički from Niš.
Tonight, the Old Lady ended a streak of three draws with a 3-0 victory over Radnički, and Rastavac believes that his players were rewarded for their work in this game.
– My impression at the end of this game is that we got a reward for a few matches back. In some previous matches we were better in some segments of our game, but today we scored goals compared to them. The development of the situation in the second half put us in a position where we could threaten the opponent’s goal from a counter attack. We have to be aware that we had a rival who managed to score against everyone except Red Star and that’s why I’m extremely glad that we saved the net and regained that solidity we were known for. Radnički showed that he is a good rival, they made us suffer in everything we tried to do, but we managed to rise and find a way to victory. We managed to take the lead in the first half, and in the second to score the second goal on time and then the game flows in a rhythm that suits us. We managed to reduce their chances on the counter attack and that was key, because they are very strong there. That’s why Radnički left space behind and that’s how we got opportunities to score goals. The result is extremely important to us, both because of the points and because of the three goals scored, because we have a game against Voždovac already on Sunday and we will do our best to stay in the winning streak – said Rastavac.
He pointed out that he was particularly pleased with the way the fans saw off his team after tonight’s victory.
– We play football for the fans, but what we experienced at the end of the game is something we strive for and will remember. When we spoil the hearts of our fans, it means that we have done a lot of good things on the field – said Rastavac.
Coach of Voša also praised the return of Uroš Nikolić, who scored a goal from the first touch with the ball for the final 3-0.
– Uroš Nikolić’s quality has never been disputed. He is a player who confirmed his level, but had certain health problems. In such a situation, we made a mutual agreement that we would help him and he would help us when he gets ready. Today was the first time we could count on him and he immediately scored a goal, and I think he was also rewarded for the effort he put in to get back on the field – highlights Rastavac.
Finally, he pointed out that there is also a special program of work with Kabić.
– Kabić played youthfully, excitedly, with certain levels of exceptional quality, with certain levels of unnecessary mistakes, but all that is expected. We also have an agreement with him, to correct his mistakes and to use the potential he has and shows in every game. We will see if he will start the next match as well, but we are sure that he will play a large number of games. And he is aware that he is not yet ready to play 90 minutes continuously, but he will definitely be our important member – concluded Rastavac.
