Vojvodina played a 0-0 draw against Spartak in the third round of the Serbian Super League.
In front of around 5,500 spectators at Karađorđe, the teams performed in the following lineups:
Vojvodina: Carević – Lazarević (from 61st Bjeković), Traore, Jeličić, Đorđević – Topić (from 85th Milošević), Milosavljević (from 61st Zukić) – Baraye, V. Simić, Nešković (from 61st Bastajić) – N. Nikolić.
Spartak: Manojlović, Shimura, Srećković (from 61st Vitorović), Bijelović, Todoroski (from 46th Stanić), Ostojić, Šćepanović (from 46th Đurasović), Mitrović (from 73rd Tanasin), Tumbasević, Filipović, Obradović (from 84th Rošević).
Before the start of the match, an appropriate ceremony was organized, considering that the coach of the U-17 national team of Serbia and former player and coach of Vojvodina Radovan Krivokapić presented the UEFA trophy to young Jovan Milošević, the best scorer of the recently concluded European Cadet Championship in Israel and the great hope of Vojvodina and Serbian football.
From the beginning of the match, Vojvodina had more possession of the ball and managed to transfer the game to the half of Spartak, who also played attacking and tried to use every approach to the goal of Lazar Carević. The first opportunity was seen in the 32nd minute, when Milosavljević took a corner kick, and Baraye shot from about fifteen meters diagonally, but Manojlović caught the ball.
On the other side, in the 36th minute, Mitrović countered, since he caught a volley from about fifteen meters diagonally, but the ball went outside the frame of the goal. Just four minutes later, Voša could score again after a great double pass between Veljko Simić and Nemanja Nikolić, after which Simić shot from around four to five meters, but Manojlović saved.
In the 54th minute, the Old Lady had a new chance after Baraye took a corner kick, and Nemanja Nikolić sent a shot from the first line from about five to six meters, but the ball went a few centimeters past the post. Nikolić could have been among the scorers two minutes later, when he also sent a shot from the first after Veljko Simić’s cross, but Manojlović saved.
Vojvodina threatened again in the 60th minute, when Baraye shot from about 20 meters, but the ball went a few centimeters wide of the post. The same player had a chance in the 72nd minute, when Nemanja Nikolić passed him a nice ball, Baraye shot, but the ball hit the outside of the net.
As the game drew to a close, the pressure of the players of Vojvodina on Spartak’s defense was increasing, but there were no real chances, so the match ended in a draw.
