The coach of Vojvodina, Dragan Radojičić, regrets that the Old Lady did not manage to win a place in Europe and that the match of the last round has no competitive significance for his team.
On Sunday, Vojvodina will play against TSC in the last round of the Serbian Super League, and Radojičić expects maximum access from his team.
– I hoped that we would be in Europe by the last round or that we would fight for the fourth place, and not that the placement of our rivals depends on the results with Vojvodina. However, we are entering this match focused on the best possible game, true, we are not in a very good mood. I am sure that the guys will do their job as professionally as possible, because the jersey and the coat of arms of FK Vojvodina must always be respected. I expect my guys to play well, like against Partizan in the second half in the Serbian Cup or in the championship. We will play unburdened, because the match has no result significance, but I want it to have a positive effect on our game and to provide the best possible game and for the boys to be rewarded with a victory – said Radojičić.
He believes that everything would have been different in the fight for Europe if his team had kept the lead in the second round of the playoffs against Voždovac. Voša entered that match with three tied victories, and if she had kept the advantage against Voždovac, she would have jumped to fourth place.
– It remains a pity that we did not win a place in Europe, but I must admit that I was powerless in the last two and a half months. We got up at one point, had several victories and then came the crucial match against Voždovac. We took the lead and I am sure that, if we kept the lead until the halftime, we would qualify for Europe. If we had endured those 13 minutes, everything would have been different. I was already thinking about the halftime and I had a plan to save the result and that would break the season. After that defeat, our expectations fell, which had the greatest impact on the change and decline of form. I am sorry that we did not succeed, but objective circumstances influenced this outcome, but I will talk about it if I have the opportunity at the end of the season, when the curtains come down – Radojičić pointed out.
Vojvodina’s Manager is proud that many young players got a chance and announces their minutes in Bačka Topola as well.
– If you look at the minutes and statistics since I came, all the young players played and got a chance. Now someone else will come and let him continue on that path. I’m sure some of them will get a chance on Sunday as well. There will be three or four young players in this match, because I always think of the Youth Academy, as well as the first time I was the coach of Voša, when Tadić, Medojević, Aleksić played and I always try to think of the club’s children – Radojičić concluded.
The TSC – Vojvodina match is on the program on Sunday at 6.30 pm with a live broadcast on the Arena sport 1 channel.
