The assistant coach of Vojvodina FC, Sekula Rašiovan is optimistic before the derby against Spartak.
After the victory against Radnički Niš, players of the Old Lady are welcoming the team of Spartak on Sunday in the 26th round of MozzartBet Super League of Serbia.
- We know that we have another game in a row at our stadium, which we have to win. Spartak has a high-quality team, strong, organized behind the ball, and it will not be easy, but we know that we are playing before our fans and that only with a victory can we continue towards our goal. We are entering this match with maximum motivation and readiness, we are going for the win, and to finally get those 3 points at our Karađorđe. As for the staff, we are slowly gathering, you already saw that in Niš we had Medojević and Savićević who had recovered, and luckily Sery didn’t suffer a more serious injury and after today’s training we will know everything, but we expect him to be in the competition for the starting 11. We have two more days to tactically prepare the team, and choose the strongest lineup which will bring us victory – Rašiovan said.
He highlighted that the victory in Niš was important on a psychological level.
- The victory in Niš means to us on a psychological level, especially after the match with IMT, where we lost even though we had good chances. That defeat, as well as the draw in Pančevo, when we also received a goal in the last moments of the match, are only a motif more to celebrate before our fans. Their support in Niš meant a lot to us, and we expect them to be the wind in our sails on Sunday as well – Rašiovan underlined.
He believes that Spartak has a good team.
- Spartak played well with the coach Gaćinović, and with the arrival of Sivić they remained on a high level. They previously had some reinforcements, I primarily think of Kuveljić and Lukić, and the greatest danger for us comes from Tomović. We analyzed them, we will be focused and maximally ready to lower their strengths to the minimum – Rašiovan pointed out.
In the end he addressed the observation that Vojvodina is amongst the worst hosts this season.
- There is probably a certain pressure due to bad results, but the teams come here to defend themselves and stand firmly behind the ball. However, we have to accept that, even sometimes when we rush to win. Our goal is Europe, and in order to achieve that goal we have to win at home as well – Rašiovan concluded.
The match is scheduled for Sunday at 5pm, with a live broadcast at RTV1 and Arena premium 2.
