The coach of Vojvodina FC, Nenad Lalatović, is optimistic before the match against Čukarički, even though he expects a difficult game against a traditionally dangerous rival.

After two consecutive wins against Novi Pazar and Grafičar, Vojvodina is welcoming Čukarički in the 18th round of Mozzart Bet Super League of Serbia.

  • We all know that Čukarički has one of the best teams in the league, that it is in the very top when it comes to the organization, and players. Still, with whomever we play at home, we are going for the win. It won’t be easy at all, because this is a direct clash in the fight for Europe. Čukarički defeated us a few months before at their own stadium with the result 3:1. This match can be some sort of revenge, for us to win this time. It is very important that we rowed two wins, and received only one goal, and scored 6. We have risen on that psychological level. I would like to invite the players to come in large numbers to support us, because the energy at the stadium is certainly more beautiful, and we win more easily with their support. That is why we want to earn another 3 points with their support – Lalatović said.

He reflected on the negative tradition against Čukarički in the modern history.

  • I know that as a coach of Vojvodina I had many opportunities to face Čukarički, I didn’t lose many times, but it was often a draw. For me the most important victory was the one in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup, when we defeated them with the result 0:1. We know they are a difficult opponent for us, but we are playing at our stadium, traditions are there to be broken, so we are going for the win – Lalatović highlighted.

  • We will know definitely today, but I think that we will be able to count on Dele. As for resting, they had 7 days, they changed the coach, the new coach will bring something new and that will certainly raise them. However, our players are professionals and they have to get used to playing twice a week, because that is the best. Besides, this is the derby for Europe, we live for these games, there are no excuses – Lalatović concluded.
