Players of Vojvodina FC lost at Ljudski vrt stadium to the team of NK Maribor with the result 2:1 in the first match of the 3rd qualification round for the Conference League.

The only scorer for Vojvodina FC was Caleb Zady Sery in the 77th minute.
The teams performed in the following lineups:
Maribor: Jug – Širvis, Vidmar, Karič, Milec (from the 79th Sikošek) – Ž. Repas (from the 86th Boris), J. Repas – Barišić (from the 67th Sudani), Iličić, Božić (from the 86th Burle) – Bogre (from the 67th Jakupović).
Vojvodina: Carević – Butean, Sichenje, Crnomarković, Lukas Barros – Petrović, Poletanović (from the 50th Medojević), Savićević (from the 90th L. Nikolić) – Radulović (from the 33rd Ivanović), Sery, Bamidele.
Voša took the initiative from the very beginning, had the ball possession, and Njegoš Petrović had the first chance and a shot to the goal from some 25 meters, but he shot over the goal post. Two minutes later, after a new good pressing and taking the ball from the half of the home team, Radulović also tried from the distance, but he shot next to the goal post.
Maribor had their first chance in the 10th minute, Barišić shot from the right side, but Carević was in position. The same player had a new chance in the 12th minute, when Maribor performed an action on the left flank, Barišić went into the empty space, and with the outer part shot into the further angle, but Carević blocked the shot once again.
After a few minutes with no particular chances, in the 20th minute Sichenje took the ball from his half and passed to Butean who centered for Radulović, and Radulović headkicked the ball over the bar.

 

In the 33rd minute Bandović was forced to make a substitution, because Radulović left the pitch due to his shoulder injury, and was replaced by Mihailo Ivanović. Bamidele then had a potential chance in the 38th minute, he took the ball across the right flank, brought it into the middle, but then with his left foot shot far away from the net. Two minutes later, Voša attacked again, Butean’s center shot was almost caught by Ivanović.
In the 40th minute, Iličić had his best chance for the home team, he carried the ball through the middle, positioned it onto his left foot and shot into Carević’s right angle, but he was imprecise. In the last minute of the first half, Maribor had another chance, Božić passed on the left side, then brought it into the middle and from the edge of the penalty area shot on the ground, but Carević was excellent once again.
Already at the start of the second half, Bandović had to make another substitution, because Poletanović was also injured, and he was replaced by Medojević.
In the same minute, Maribor was close to scoring once again, this time Iličić shot excellently from the free kick from some 20 meters, and the ball went a few centimeters over the bar.
In the 56th minute Ivanović has a 100% chance, he went alone in front of the goalkeeper, shot the further angle, but Širvis blocked the shot. In the continuation of the action on the other side, Butean caught the ball, knocked over Božić and made a penalty. The experienced Iličić took over this responsibility, and his shot was read by Carević, but Iličić caught the ball again and scored for 1:0.
Voša decided to start attacking, and in the 63rd minute Petrović shot from the distance again, but the ball went over the bar. Two minutes later, Petrović was centimeters away from scoring, after a well-played action from the interruption, Voša’s captain shot strongly from 18 meters, and hit the goal post.

In the 68th minute Vojvodina was left with a player less, after the referee had allowed for the game to continue due to the foul over Petrović. In the continuation of the action, Medojević slid to the middle of the pitch, and the referee gave him a direct red card.
In the 73rd minute Iličić threatened the net of Carević again, he freed himself from Crnomarković and from 20 meters shot just a little over the bar.
And then, in the 77th minute, Sery scored for 1:1! Ivanović performed the majority of work, he received the ball and pulled it to the danger zone, passed to Sery who played a double pass with Bamidele and then shot into the first corner for 1:1.
In the last moments, after a corner performed by Sery, Ivanović shot from the other side, but failed to score and change the result.
In the following attack, the last one, after a center shot from the right flank, Sudani headkicked the ball for 2:1.

The rematch is schedule for August 15th at TSC Arena at 8pm.
