The coach of Vojvodina, Ranko Popović believes that the bad play until the first goal affected the end result in the derby with Partizan.
The players of the old lady lost today against Partizan in Humska with the result 3:1, and Popović believes that his team could have played much better in the first half.
- In the first half we were not active enough for the kind of game we want to play. There were not a lot of us, Partizan gave more, and we started playing only after we received the goal. Unfortunately, after the difficult match against the Red Star, Partizan followed immediately, and created an atmosphere that Vojvodina is playing for someone, and Vojvodina is not a team that plays for someone, but for themselves. Vojvodina is nothing less of a club than Zvezda and Partizan, with all due respect, they have more titles than we do, but we are a renowned club too. What we showed after 1:0 we should have showed since the beginning, we had a few chances after the draw, but we didn’t use them. We congratulate Partizan and we will try to correct the mistakes that cost us the win tonight – Popović said.
In the next round Vojvodina is expecting the team of Napredak, and before that on Wednesday, the are playing against Mladost GAT in the 1/8 finals of the Cup of Serbia.
