Today, Vojvodina will play the second friendly match during the preparations in Belek. At 3 pm Serbian time, its rival will be Zorya from Luhansk, which is accomodated in the same hotel as the FK Vojvodina expedition. The match will be played on the pitch of the sports center Susesi.
Football club Zorya (which means “dawn” in Ukrainian) was founded in 1923 by workers of the steam locomotive factory under the name Metalist. Since then, the club has changed its name as many as 11 times, and the current name Zorya Luhansk was given in 1996. Zorya achieved its greatest success in 1972, when it won the title of champion of the Soviet Union, which has remained the only trophy in the club’s history to this day.
The FC Zorya stadium is called Avanhard and has a capacity of 22,288 seats, with the proviso that, since the beginning of the civil war in eastern Ukraine, this club plays as a host at the Slavutych Arena stadium in Zaporizhzhia, with a capacity of 11,883 seats. As the host, Zorja performs in completely white, while away it plays in completely black equipment.
Zorya is currently in the fourth place of the Ukrainian Premier League, and this season it also participated in the group phase of the Europa League, where it won the third place in the group with Leicester City, Braga and AEK with a total of six points. The coach of the team is 51-year-old Ukrainian Viktor Skripnik, who has a team at his disposal whose total value is estimated at around 19.5 million euros. In addition to domestic players, he can count on two players from Israel and one each from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Latvia, Brazil, Croatia, Iran and Montenegro.
As for the players of Vojvodina, they will not train this morning, and the Manager, Nenad Lalatović, announced that this time as well, he will provide an opportunity for two teams to play for 45 minutes each.
