Vojvodina will play its fourth friendly match in Belek today. At 2 PM Serbian time, the rival of the red and whites in the football center Titanic Deluxe Golf will be Lokomotiv 1929 from Sofia, currently the eighth-placed team in the championship of Bulgaria.
Lokomotiv was founded in 1929 by railway workers and represents one of the clubs with the longest tradition in Bulgarian football. In its history, Lokomotiv has won four championship titles (1940, 1945, 1964 and 1978) and four Bulgarian Cups (1948, 1953, 1982 and 1995), while on the European stage it achieved its greatest success in 1980 by reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup, in which, after the previous elimination of Ferencvaros, Monaco and Dynamo Kyiv, it was stopped by Stuttgart. The club also holds the record in Bulgarian football as the club with the longest unbeaten streak in international competition, with Lokomotiv being undefeated in Europe for eight consecutive games. Lokomotiv 1929 fans see Slavia from Sofia as their biggest rival.
The coach of the team is 41-year-old Bulgarian Stanislav Genchev, who has a team at his disposal whose value is estimated at around 5.8 million euros. In addition to local players, Lokomotiv 1929 also features five Brazilians and one player each from Gambia, Mozambique and Portugal. As the host, this team plays at the Lokomotiv stadium with a capacity of 22,000 seats and performs at home in red and black, and away in black and white jerseys.
