Players of Vojvodina FC lost against the team of Ajax AFC after a great fight, with the result of 1:3.
The only scorer for Vojvodina FC was Lazar Nikolić in the 59th minute.
The teams performed in the following lineups:
Vojvodina: Carević – Butean (from 56th L. Nikolić), Sichenje, Crnomarković, Barros – Petrović, Nikolić (from 56th Radulović), Poletanović – Bamidele, Sery – Vukanović (from 42nd Ivanović).
Ajax: Pasveer – Rensch, Šutalo, Baas, Hato – Fitz Jim, Henderson, Taylor (from 46th Van den Boomen), Rasmussen (from 60th Traore), Akpom, Forbs (from 60th Godts).
Božidar Bandović made two changes when compared to the first match, because Nikolić and Vukanović took the positions instead of Savićević and Ivanović. Aside from that, Voša played more in the formation 4-3-3 instead of the usual 4-2-3-1.
Voša controlled the match well in the introductory minutes, and already in the seventh had their first solid chance when Nikolić took the ball to the middle, passed to Bamidele on the right flank, and he carried it into the middle and shot the further angle, but the goalkeeper Pasveer was in position.
Ajax didn’t pose a danger to the net of Carević, even though the midfielders were constantly looking for empty space in the danger zone, and they entered the dangerous zone for the first time in the 17th minute, when Fitz-Jim’s shot was blocked.
In the 23rd minute, after a shorter domination of Ajax in the middle, and one corner, Voša performed a quick counter-attack, Sery tried to pass to Bamidele who went on the net of the goalkeeper alone, and in the last minute the defensive player of Ajax reacted and stopped a 100% chance.
A somewhat calmer period followed, with a great fight in the middle of the pitch, Ajax was more dangerous, and in the 33rd minute the guests almost took the lead. Forbs centered from the left flank, Šutalo directed the ball to the net from a near distance with his heel, Carević was already overpowered, but from the goal line Sichenje intervened masterfully and saved the net of the Old Lady.
In the finish of the first half, after the duel with Šutalo in the middle of the field, due to injury Aleksa Vukanović left the pitch, and he was replaced by Mihailo Ivanović. It was precisely him who had the best chance in the first half, after a counter-attack in the added time, Sery found him in time, Ivanović shot the further angle on the ground, but the ball ended next to the goal post.
Until halftime, there were no more serious chances, so the result remained 0:0.
Ajax took the lead from the first chance in the continuation of the match, in the 53rd minute after a corner on the right side, Akpom shot from 10 meters, Carević stopped his attempt, but failed and Šutalo scored for 0:1.
Božidar Bandović immediately reacted with a double substitution, Lazar Nikolić and Radulović replaced Butean and Uroš Nikolić, and that immediately influenced the result. In the 59th minute, Sery led the action again, he went into the middle and found Nikolić who shot towards the net, the ball caught Šutalo and cheated Pasveer for 1:1.
The coach of Ajax immediately reacted with substitutions, Traore and Godts replaced Rasmussen and Forbs.
Then followed a period with no significant chances, Voša started playing offensively, which was shown by the changes, Veličković and Savićević replaced Bamidele and Poletanović.
Voša had two dangerous attacks, but better shots of Ivanović were missing, and then a better shot of Sery, which was blocked by Pasveer.
And then in the 85th minute, after an action and a returning ball on the right side, Hato took the ball and sent it to the upper left angle for 1:2.
The home team kept trying to get back up until the end, Veličković shot from the distance, but next to the goal post. After that, in the last minutes Ajax had a 100% chance, Berghuis shot twice from a near distance, but Sichenje intervened excellently both times in front of the goal line.
In the last minutes of the match, Ajax scored their third goal, after an action on the left side, Traore escaped the defence and shot the further angle on the ground, and overpowered Carević for 1:3.
Until the end there were no changes of the result, so Vojvodina after a total score of 1:4 continues their competition in the 3rd round of qualifications for the Conference League, and the opponent will be Slovenian Maribor.
