Vojvodina Football Club condemns the behavior of the head of staff, Nenad Lalatović, at the press conference after the match against Radnički 1923 from Kragujevac. At the same time, we ask the disciplinary bodies of the Association of the Super League and the Football Association of Serbia to establish all the events related to that incident.
Without the slightest desire to lessen anyone’s responsibility, or justify the behavior of Nenad Lalatović in any way, which was in directly contradiction of the values, reputation and image of Vojvodina FC, we would like to remind the public that the verbal conflict between the two coaches began while the match was still in progress (in the 70th minute), and it was continued in the tunnel, as they were walking towards the dressing rooms, and off the camera. What and whether one of the two coaches said something offensive during that time, should be determined by the disciplinary bodies of the League and the Association.
We as the club are at their disposal so as to help establish the entire truth, and the proof of how determined we are in our intention to discover the entire truth is that the disciplinary bodies of the club started the procedure against the head of staff of our team, Nenad Lalatović, with the goal to prevent something like this from happening again in the future. Regardless of the nature of the conflict, it is necessary that all the club representatives remain dignified, behave like gentlemen, and always be the example to the young people who look up to them.
The afore-mentioned incident, unfortunately, cast a shadow on the great football performance that was seen at Karađorđe stadium on Saturday, and also overshadows all the good and positive things that the management of the club has been doing to return the club to the European map of football. And, we remind you, a lot has been done – Vojvodina FC is currently one of the two or three financially most stable clubs in Serbia, there are no affairs around the club, and as such an environment we are already recognized around Europe. Our goal is to retain that, but also to progress as an organization in every way.
We welcome every sports rival with respect and traditional hospitality, and that is how it will always be.
In the end, we would like to highlight that the conflict of the two coaches did not and cannot jeopardize the friendly relations of Vojvodina FC and Radnički 1923.
