Vojvodina will play a new friendly match in preparation in Slovenia today. At 5:30 p.m., the opponent of the red and whites in Slovenske Konjice will be Slaven Belupo from Koprivnica, the eighth-placed team in the first league of Croatia last season.
This club was founded in 1945 as the Slaven gymnasium, but inherits the tradition of the club that was founded in June 1907, which was called the Koprivnica student football club. The club got its current name Slaven Belupo in 1994, after the company Belupo became the general sponsor of the club.
In the history so far, Slaven Belupo has not managed to win a single trophy, and his greatest success in domestic competitions is his second place in the 2007/08 season and the final of the Croatian Cup in the seasons 2006/07 and 2015/16. In European competitions, his greatest achievement is the semifinals of the former Inter-Toto Cup, which he reached in 2002 and 2004.
The coach of this team is 59-year-old Dutchman Ricardo Moniz, who has a team at his disposal whose value is estimated at around 7.4 million euros. Apart from local players, two football players from Kosovo and one each from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Austria, Moldova and Colombia are also playing for Slaven Belupo. Slaven Belupo Stadium is called Ivan Kusek Apas and has a capacity of 5,000 seats. At home, Slaven Belupo plays in completely blue, while away from home he performs in completely black equipment.
