Today, Vojvodina will play the second friendly match in the preparations in Turkey. The rival of the red and whites will be Slask Wroclaw, currently the 11th-placed team in the Polish Ekstraklasa, and the match will be played at 5 pm in the sports center Susesi in Belek. The two teams previously met this summer during the preparations in Slovenia, when Vojvodina was more successful and won 1-0 (0-0), with a goal by Uroš Kabić in the 82nd minute.
FC Slask was founded in 1947 as FC Pioneer and has changed its name four times in its history, and the current one was given in 1957 by the area where the city of Wroclaw is located. This club can boast of seven trophies in its showcases, as it has won two Polish championship titles (1977 and 2012), two Cups (1976 and 1987), two Super Cups (1987 and 2012) and one Polish League Cup (2009). It is considered the eighth best Polish club of all time.
In Europe, Slask achieved its greatest success in 1977, reaching the quarterfinals of the former Cup Winners’ Cup, when it was eliminated by Napoli. In the previous ten years, Slask, just like Vojvodina, reached the Europa League playoffs three times, but failed to qualify for the group stage. Also, just like the Old Lady, Slask participated in the qualifications for the Conference League this season, where, just like Vojvodina, it finished the competition in the third round, in which it was eliminated by Hapoel Beer Sheva from Israel.
Slask is playing at the Miejski stadium with a capacity of 42,771 seats. This stadium belongs to the fourth, highest category of UEFA and was built for the needs of the European Championship in 2012, and it is the third largest in Poland in terms of capacity. As a host, Slask plays in green, and as a guest in white equipment, and can boast that, just like Vojvodina, it is one of the first clubs in its country with organized fan support.
The coach of this team is 44-year-old Pole Jacek Magiera, who has at his disposal a team whose value is estimated at around 14.13 million euros. In addition to the Poles, the current team of Slask consists of nine foreigners, three of whom come from Spain, two from Slovakia and one each from Portugal, Hungary, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
As for Vojvodina, the Manager, Slavoljub Đorđević, announced that he would once again give the opportunity for the two teams to play for 45 minutes each.
