Vojvodina coach Milan Rastavac believes that his team was unlucky in the draw with Radnik today.

The Old Lady drew 1-1 in the 23rd round of the Mozzart Bet Super League of Serbia, and Rastavac points out that it is difficult to win if you concede a goal and miss a penalty.

– We were not lucky enough today, first we conceded a goal, and then we missed a penalty and in those conditions it is difficult to make up for all that during 90 minutes. We played the way we wanted, we managed to put the goalkeeper under pressure and get into the opponent’s penalty area, but we could have used those situations better. We haven’t been rewarded for the effort we put in, I feel sorry for the lads because they struggled, but things like that happen. I am responsible, maybe if I had appointed a different penalty taker and some things within the team were different. We kept the game under control, we didn’t manage to score another goal, but everything else was at the required level. I congratulate the guests on the point and wish them luck in the rest of the season – said Rastavac.

He also commented on the decision of Vojvodina fans to boycott the decision to play matches on weekdays.

– The fans have a plan not to come to the matches on weekdays with the explanation that those days are not for football. We did not find harmony, I called the fans with the idea to get support, because we need help from the stands. We like to play in front of our fans and they have a stake in our game and our energy, but I don’t believe that was the key item – said Rastavac.

Coach of Voša revealed that Nemanja Nikolić did not apply for the squad due to a minor injury.

– Nemanja Nikolić has certain health problems, minor injuries, from which he cannot come out and be 100% ready. My decision was that until he is fully ready, he will not apply for the team – Rastavac revealed.

The Manager of Vojvodina admitted that he is not satisfied with the points balance that currently keeps his team away from the goal, which is placement in Europe.

– What irritates us is that we are moving away from our goal with our scoring performance. What is in front of us is the space we have to fix it and we will not stop believing as long as there is a chance to achieve our goal. We believe that we can do much better – said Rastavac.

He also responded to the statement that Vojvodina has been opening games badly for some time.

– These are psychological things that we are struggling with, and it is evident that we still haven’t overcome it. We are trying to change that, to wake up earlier. Today we had a significant step forward in that, but we were cut off by that mistake from that excessive desire to do something in the shortest possible period – Rastavac points out.

Jovan Milošević brought positive things with his entry, and the coach claims that he will continue to get a chance.

– Milošević has his rating and will get a chance in the future to the extent that I think he can help the team. He works hard, he contributes, there are things he can help us with, and there are also certain conditions that suit other players, but he is certainly an important player for our team – concluded Rastavac.

In the next round, Vojvodina will face Radnički in Niš on Tuesday at 4 PM.
