The coach of Vojvodina FC, Ranko Popović is optimistic before the match with Radnički 1923.
In the 6th round of Mozzart Bet Superleague of Serbia, on Saturday, Vojvodina FC is welcoming the team of Radnički 1923, and Popović is hoping for a good match and his team’s victory.
– It is evident that we improved in these last three games, and we enhanced some things. The game is a bit faster, but not enough for what we want to achieve, but that is not so easy. What bothers me the most is that we make some unsolicited mistakes, and then get punished for them. If we lower that to the minimum, we will progress much better and faster. As for tomorrow’s match, I have to praise the players for their effort at training sessions, because they have been working hard to achieve the shape we want as soon as possible. They are also aware that we have to reduce the number of mistakes, and at the same time fix efficiency. It is good that we are making more and more chances while playing, which is what we want to be our signature mark. Unfortunately, as the matches progress, focus drops, and it is related to exhaustion, and the desire to be a little bit better in that aspect. We respect each opponent, and we don’t want to look at the scores, because they can be deceptive. We should look after ourselves, grow from game to game, and be better at each new match – Popović said.
He revealed that Asmir Kajević has recovered from his injury and that he would apply for the lineup.
– Tanjga won’t be in the protocol for the match, but Kajević returns and that’s good news because we need his experience. He is not entirely ready, but it is important to know that he will be able to help us, and to what extent, that depends from the situation developing on the pitch. As for others, we will wait until tomorrow, some players trained with lower intensity, not that those are major injuries, but it remains to be seen who will be entirely ready for the game – Popović highlighted.
Voša’s coach also reflected on the potentially easier match schedule after the representative break, and pointed out that he would love his team to be the favorite at each match until the end of the season.
– I would like Vojvodina to be the favorite at all games, and I see that as a privilege. I have repeated numerous times that we always have to be aware of the greatness of our club, and that we haven’t given anything for that greatness until now, and it remains to be done. Be certain that the players will give their maximum for Vojvodina, but at what pace, remains to be seen. At these last three games, change was noticeable, and now we have to show at the field that we are favorites every time – Popović stated.
The director of Staff of the old lady doesn’t hide that the big number of goals received is the problem of his team.
– It is rather immature for a team who wants to be at the top to receive so many goals. That’s the statistics, and why it’s like that, we have to figure out and solve that problem, and we are aware of it. I already said that in the finish we fall because of exhaustion, but I am glad that we continue to score and make chances. Every day we work on receiving less goals, but we want everything at once. To create young players, to create the game and to achieve the result, but do you know how much that is at once?
We improved the game and we will continue to work on it, and receive less goals, because if we go on like this, we won’t make it to the top. With all due respect to our opponents, at the last two games away, we lost 4 points despite what we showed. Nothing can make up for those points, and we have to think like that – Popović said.
To conclude, he confirmed that the new player, Matheus Indio will be in the protocol for the game, at the bench.
– We can expect Matheus when he is already here, he could be in the protocol. It is better for him to be at the bench than on the stands, to feel the atmosphere. He won’t be in the starting 11 of course, but whether he will play depends on various factors – Popović concluded.
Just like at the game before this one, entrance to the east stand will be FREE for everyone with Vojvodina labels. Tickets for the west (800RSD) will be sold at the ticket office of the stadium from 19:00h on Saturday.
