After the official promotion of the new jerseys for the season 2023/24 at the Historical Archive of Novi Sad, Ranko Popović, the coach of Vojvodina FC spoke about the upcoming match against the team of IMT.

The players of the old lady will welcome the team of IMT on Friday, September 29th in the tenth round of Mozzart Bet Super league of Serbia, and Popović firstly expressed the pleasure that everyone who gathered today at the presentation was reminded of the greatness of Vojvodina FC.

  • I would first like to draw a parallel that can also be applicable to us. Several times we said, and today confirmed as you were talking about the history of Vojvodina, that Serbian and Jewish community together built the stadium, in unity and agreement, how they achieved numerous things together, and that’s what I want today, that everything we do, we do together. Together is a word that should connect us all, so that we can bring Vojvodina back to the place where it belongs, and where it must be. We are the ones that have to bring out to full glory of these jerseys by playing well, that would be the most beautiful response and the greatest pleasure for those who created the history of this club through blood, sweat and tears. I am glad that we were all here today, to remind ourselves of the greatness of Vojvodina, because that’s the path we should follow – Popović highlighted.

 

He believes that IMT is a very dangerous team, but he expects his players to show their true colors.

  • As for the match against IMT, this time I would also like to deal less with the opponent, and more with our strategy. Sure, we should dedicate some attention and show respect to our rival, because they are a very young and agile team, and very tricky if you allow them to have their word on the pitch. However, if we show our full potential, which I believe we will, given everything we have been working on in the last few weeks, then I am certain that will struggle with us. Also, I have to point out that we were preparing differently this week, because we didn’t know the match date or location. We were supposed to play against Voždovac today, and in the end as you know, we won’t be playing with them, but this is not an alibi, we just simply didn’t have the time to work on the things we wanted to. I expect that at the match we will show that we are truly the players of great Vojvodina, by respecting the jersey and by playing well – Ranko Popović said.

He announced some changes to the lineup in relation to the previous match against Javor.

  • I would like there not to be any changes, but unfortunately there will be some. Everything should be in order by tomorrow, but whoever plays knows what they should do, and that should be a standard for us – Ranko Popović concluded.

The match between Vojvodina and IMT is scheduled for Friday at 6:30pm, and the tickets for the West and North stand will be sold on matchday, at the ticket offices of the stadium for the price: 800 dinars (WEST), and 300 dinars (NORTH), while entrance to the east stand will be free for all those who come wearing labels of Vojvodina FC.
