Football club Vojvodina today signed professional contracts with three players from its Youth Academy. Those are 18-year-old Matvey Martinkevich, 17-year-old Marko Luković and 17-year-old Milan Vidaković, who are currently members of the U-18 team of Vojvodina.
Matvey Martinkevich was born on November 2, 2002 in Moscow, from where he came to Serbia five years ago. He plays as a striker, and he came to Vojvodina a year and a half ago from ČSK Čelarevo.
– First of all, I feel obliged to thank Vojvodina for giving me the opportunity and for believing in me, and that is a particularly nice gesture considering that I was injured this season. The club helped me a lot to recover as soon as possible and, already in January, to be ready to run on the pitch again – said Martinkevich.
His teammate Marko Luković was born on September 4, 2003 and plays as a right winger or right back, although he has also played on the left side in some matches this season. He is originally from Bačka Palanka, but he came to Vojvodina as a boy about ten years ago.
– I am very happy for signing a professional contract and, at the same time, I am extremely grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to formalize our cooperation. Also, I am grateful to Vojvodina for everything else that it has done for me so far. In the future, hard work awaits me, but for me this represents an additional motive and incentive, so that I deserve to get the opportunity in the first team as soon as possible – said Luković.
Apart from Martinkevich and Luković, goalkeeper Milan Vidaković, born on February 10, 2003 in Novi Sad, also expressed great satisfaction with the signing of the professional contract.
– I came to Vojvodina five or six years ago from FS Petar Puača, and it is interesting that at that time I was not a goalkeeper at all, but a central back. I started defending only four years ago, and it really feels great that I became a professional in Vojvodina today. I will probably finish the current season in the U-18 team, and we will see what happens in the summer. I hope that in a few years I will manage to become the first goalkeeper of Vojvodina – said Vidaković.
