Vojvodina Football Club is pleased to announce that Lazar Romanić is officially the first reinforcement in 2025!

Romanić arrives to the Old Lady from Železničar FC, where he scored 9 goals and had 4 assists in the autumn part of the season, and thus was one of the best players of Super League of Serbia.

Romanić was born on March 25th 1998 in Kragujevac, he attended the Youth Academy of the Red Star, played on loans in OFK Beograd and Borac from Čačak, before he went abroad, to the Greek Lamia, in the summer of 2018.

He played for the Greek team for 5 seasons, and then returned to Serbia as a free player, to Železničar FC, in the summer of 2023. Today he signed for Vojvodina until 2028.

The president of Vojvodina FC, Dragoljub Zbiljić wished Romanić plenty of luck in the jersey of the Old Lady.

  • I would like to thank the management of Železničar for their cooperation in the negotiations, because they understood our huge persistance, and the desire to bring Lazar Romanić before the preparations in Antalya. I think that we made a deal based on mutual satisfaction. I wish Lazar to continue playing in the same form. We wanted him last summer, but now everything fell into place for him to come, and I hope that we will see him in all his glory in the first round of the spring part of the season – said the club’s president, Dragoljub Zbiljić.

Romanić also expressed his satisfaction for arriving to Voša, and revealed why he chose to come to Novi Sad.

  • What decided was my desire to make the right move in my career, and that is Vojvodina. We are talking about one of the largest Serbian clubs, which can bring a lot to every player. Their system of work in on an exquisite level, and we heard only nice things about the club from different sources, and in the end, it was not hard to make the decision to sign for Voša – Romanić said.

He especially thanked everyone for the fact that this winter he was set as the absolute priority by the entire management and staff of Vojvodina FC.

  • To me as a player it means a lot when I know that everyone wanted to bring me here. I would like to thank the president, Dragoljub Zbiljić, everyone in the club and the staff for showing me their trust. It is an additional motif to give back on the pitch, and I will give my 100% to justify those high expectations – Romanić said.

From the current A team of Vojvodina FC, Romanić knows a few co-players, and can’t wait to being training with them.

  • I know Njegoš Petrović, Andrija Radulović, Aleksa Vukanović, sorry if I forgot someone…certainly I am happy that they will be my teammates, and I am sure that we will have a nice cooperation. I can’t wait to join the team in Turkey – Romanić underlined.

In the end, Romanić sent a strong message to the fans.

  • I would like to say to the fans that I am happy to play at Karađorđe, and that I hope for their big support, especially when we host the games. I will give my all to make them happy with goals, and for all of us to celebrate the placement to Europe at the end of the season. Our goal is clear – fight for the trophy in the Serbian Cup, and fall in the group stage of UEFA competitions – Romanić concluded.

Romanić will wear the jersey with number 91, and he will join the rest of the team on preparations in Antalya.
