Vojvodina coach Nenad Lalatović praised his team after the new triumph and wished Novi Pazar to survive in the Serbian Super League.
The Old Lady has beaten Novi Pazar today with the result 1-0, with a goal by Momčilo Mrkaić, and thus strengthened its position on the third place on the table of the Serbian Super League.
– First of all, I would wholeheartedly wish Novi Pazar to stay in the league. I have always said that Novi Pazar is one of my favorite clubs in the Super League. They have phenomenal fans and I have repeated many times that it is nice to be the coach of Novi Pazar, since the audience is really always their 12th player. I hope that Novi Pazar will stabilize, I think that the city and the club deserve to be at the top of the Super League and that they will fight to play in Europe next year – said Lalatović.
He reminded how difficult it was for his team in the first game after the national team break.
– It is always somehow difficult for us to return after that national team break. I also felt tired, and we even missed Čović, Topić and Vukadinović, who are among our best players. Novi Pazar, on the other hand, was dangerous, they opened the game well and again proved that they are the most dangerous from that fast transition from defense to attack. With the entry of Mrkaić, we got that depth and a domination in the air. Mrkaić used the chance nicely, he scored a great goal. When everything is added and subtracted, we were better for that one goal. I am proud of my team, we keep that third place, we are waiting for the rival in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup, we are breaking all records and it is nice to be a fan, coach and player of Vojvodina today. What everyone expected from us, we achieved – Lalatović pointed out.
The coach of the Old Lady added that he hopes that his team will be complete soon, and explained why he had to rotate in certain positions today.
– Saničanin played for the national team, Topić is slowly returning to the right form, Maksimović played phenomenally today and I would especially like to single him out from today’s game. Also, I was hesitant about Đorđević, who wasn’t fully ready and came back after the injury. We must not relax, there are no easy opponents, especially at this moment it is not easy to motivate players when we have a big difference, while our rivals are fighting for survival. When we add a few injuries to that, then it feels like we are missing a larger number of players in the rotation. I hope that Čović will recover as soon as possible. Today, Vukadinović trained for the first time in a month, and I hope we will all be together for the semifinals of the Serbian Cup – concluded Nenad Lalatović.
In the next round on Wednesday, Vojvodina will play against Rad.
