The coach of Panevezys, Joao Luis Martins, and the football player Paulius Janushauskas held a press conference tonight before tomorrow’s match against Vojvodina in the second round of qualifications for the Conference League.
Panevezys coach Joao Luis Martins expressed satisfaction with the visit to Novi Sad and pointed out that his team will try to turn things around in their favor.
In the first match six days ago, Vojvodina celebrated with the result 1-0, and the Panevezys team is aware that they have to play offensively and try to surprise a much more experienced rival.
– We’re happy to be here. We were all nicely hosted, we feel comfortable and welcome. Coming here means a lot to our team, this is a great experience for us and for our club. As for our duel tomorrow, it is a new match that we start with a goal behind. Our expectations are the same as before the first match. Vojvodina plays at a high level, has great experience in European qualifications, but we were also very good in the first match. This is a new match, a new story, but it does not start with the result 0-0 and we know that very well. We deserve to be here and we will try to turn things around in our favor – said coach Joao Luis Martins.
Lithuanian midfielder Paulius Januskauskas agreed with his coach that his team has a difficult task ahead of him.
– We know that we came here with a goal behind and we will do our best to try to reverse the result and advance to the next round of qualifications – said Januskauskas.
The match Vojvodina – Panevezys is on the program on Thursday at 8 pm at the Karađorđe stadium.
