Vojvodina coach Slavoljub Đorđević congratulated his players on a great game and victory over Slask.
The Old Lady defeated the Polish team 1-0 today at the start of the preparations, and Đorđević is especially proud of the fact that Slask is a team from the top of the Ekstraklasa.
– They say that the result is not important in friendly matches, and I generally agree, but this was competitive for us, because Slask competes in Europe. Of course I am very pleased when we win. From the first day I came, I promised to push young players from the Youth Academy, whenever the opportunity arise. It turned out that Kabić scored, and we finish the match with 7-8 players from our Academy. There are no young or old players on the pitch, since it is one team. Congratulations to the boys, I wish them to be healthy and everything else will come – said Đorđević.
He confirmed that Busnić and Vukadinović were absent due to injuries, but that he hopes they will return to the team soon.
– We are in the phase of the most difficult part of the preparations, and we also had a smaller number of players in rotation, due to injuries of Busnić and Vukadinović, but we hope that they will return in two days. The boys played a solid game, and that awaits us in Europe and later in our league. And that’s why we have to learn to play on the result and show character, as we did today. In our work, nothing would have changed if we had lost or drawn, but it is always better when we win – Đorđević concluded.
