Today, players of Vojvodina FC secured placement to the semi-finals of the Serbian Cup, when they defeated Čukarički after the penalties with the result 5:4 (1:1)!
In the regular part of the match, Vukan Savićević scored the only goal for Voša, and in the penalty series Zukić, Petrović, Lazarević and Savićević scored, while Lazar Carević blocked two penalties.
What is especially important today, this was Voša’s tenth penalty series out of the previous 11 which they won in the Cup of Serbia since 2008.
The teams performed in the following lineups:
Čukarički: Samurović, Adžić (from the 61st Ergelaš), Docić (from the 61st Kovač), Ivanović, Jovanović, Miladinović, Nikčević, Pavkov (from the 61st Mello), Sissoko, Stevanović, Tošić.
Vojvodina: Carević, Lazarević, Korać, Crnomarković, Matheus Indio, Petrović, Zukić, Campbell (from the 78th Ivanović), Savićević, Sery, Vukanović.
Čukarički had their first and best chance in the first half in the 16th minute, when Ivanović passed to Miladinović, whose shot from several meters was excellently blocked by Carević.
Voša made their first more serious threat in the 22nd minute, when they built a nice action on the left flank, Vukanović sent a returning pass to Zukić, whose shot from 15 meters was blocked by the defence of Čukarički.
After that, Campbell had one shot from the distance, he shot from some 20 meters over the bar. Before halftime, Čukarički threatened once more when Miladinović passed by Luka Adžić, but Carević reacted excellently again.
Voša took the lead after five minutes of the continuation, Savićević had an excellent solo penetration, he freed himself from two guards, and then from the edge of the penalty area, shot the first angle for 0:1 with a cunning and precise shot.
Three minutes later, Savićević, led by that goal tried once again from the distance, this time he shot directly into the goalkeeper Samurović. Čukarički fought back very quickly, through Luka Adžić, but Carević was in the right place once again.
In the 57th minute, Matheus Indio could have achieved a goal of the season, Voša’s midfielder performed a solo penetration from over 50 meters, and he lined up a few guards and enter the penalty area, shot the counter angle, but Samurović intervened. And two minutes later, Voša had a great chance when Vukanović saved the guard while receiving the ball, but Samurović stopped the shot excellently.
The same actors were in the center of attention in the 63rd minute when Sery centered from the left flank, Vukanović headkicked the ball, right into the well-positioned Samurović.
After a row of chances and missed of Vojvodina, the punishment followed in the 67th minute, Kovač from the half of the pitch sent a deep pass, Ivanović escaped Crnomarković and sent the ball next to Carević for 1:1.
Until the end of the regular 90 minutes there were no result changes, so the penalties decided the winner.
