Vojvodina was defeated by LASK with the result 0-1 (0-0) in the first match of the third round of qualifications for the Conference League.
The scorer of the only goal in the match was Michorl in the 70th minute.
The coaches took the following lineups on the field:
Vojvodina: N. Simić – Cucin, Kovačević, Stevanović, Devetak – Busnić, Topić – Novevski (from 68th Zukić), Čović, V. Simić (from 86th Bastajić) – Mrkaić (from 46th Kabić).
LASK: Schlager – Renner, Filipović, Wiesinger, Letard (from 74th Marešić) – Michorl, Grgić, Potzmann (from 46th Flecker) – Karamoko (from 62nd Balić), Goiginger (from 62nd Hong), Schmidt.
Already in the second minute, LASK had the first serious opportunity. After the corner kick, Letard was the highest in the air, but the ball went a little over the bar. Voša had her first serious attack in the ninth minute, when, after the combination with Cucin, Novevski found himself in a good position, but he sent a bad cross. Five minutes later, Voša threatened even more seriously. After the free kick, Mrkaić shot, but right next to the goalpost. LASK was the closest to the goal in the 17th minute: Schmidt shot from the edge of the penalty area next to the goal post.
LASK continued to play in the half of Vojvodina, and in the 26th minute, Potzmann shot in a corner from the edge of the penalty area, but Simić intervened very well, just like in the next attack, when Schmidt shot the in the first corner diagonally. In the 33rd minute, Simić reacted masterfully when a dangerous shot was sent by Renner from the edge of the penalty area.
Despite the dominance of the visiting team, Voša found ways to reach dangerous situations in front of the goal. In the 35th minute, Čović passed the ball to Simić nicely, and he sent the ball into the box, but the LASK defense reacted excellently. At the end of the first part of the game, the tempo dropped a bit. Voša got rid of the pressure, so the result remained unchanged at half time.
At the beginning of the second half, Đorđević introduced Kabić instead of Mrkaić, and a big downpour followed, which significantly affected the performance of both teams, so the first chance was seen in the 56th minute. Čović fired a powerful shot from 25 meters and hit the post.
LASK threatened more seriously for the first time in the 62nd minute, when Schmidt shot diagonally from the right side. Eight minutes later, LASK took the lead. Michorl was left alone at around twenty meters, he had time to prepare and then make an indefensible blow next to the post.
After the lead, LASK, as expected, stood on its own half and kept the result, while Voša tried to get closer to the goal and the danger zone with long balls. Slavoljub Đorđević sent Bastajić on the pitch instead of Veljko Simić, but there was no change in the result until the end. Devetak tried once more from a distance, but he shot directly at the LASK goalkeeper.
In the last moments of the match, Cucin earned a direct red card for tackling from the back, so the home team ended the match with a player less.
The rematch is scheduled for seven days in Klagenfurt.
