Bojan Neziri, the assistant coach of Vojvodina FC announced offensive play of his team in the derby with Red Star Belgrade.

The players of ’’the old lady’’ are facing the Red Star on Sunday at 20:00h at Rajko Mitić stadium in Belgrade. This is the match of the first round of Mozzart Bet Superleague of Serbia, and in Vojvodina FC they are optimistic about the start of the new season.

– The match with the Red Star represents a big challenge for us, just like any derby at ’’Marakana’’. We are going there with an open guard, to show ourselves in the best light against the renowned opponent. The new coach of the Red Star changed half of their team, and in a short period of time managed to achieve great things. We respect them, but we do not fear them. The matches with the Red Star are a special motif for all our players to prove themselves in the right way before the crowded stands – said Neziri.

He also reflected on the staff issue and announced changes in the lineup:

– During the afternoon training we have to check with the medical team, because a certain number of players complained about some minor discomforts after the match with APOEL. We will know more about how our lineup will look like after the tonight’s training, but there will definitely be changes. Some young players will get a chance to prove themselves, but we believe in them and everyone who gets a chance should use it to the maximum. We have 24,25 players at our disposal, and each of them should know which club they represent and that we are counting on everyone. We have a quality set of individuals, and in each moment every one of them should be ready to help the team – Neziri highlighted.

The assistant coach of Vojvodina FC also announced the return of Malbašić and Kajević, who missed the match in Cyprus.

  • We expect Malbašić and Kajević to be back for the rematch against APOEL. They have started training, so there are indications that by the rematch they will be fully ready. Again, the match with the Red Star is tomorrow, but we are also subconsciously thinking about the rematch with the team from Cyprus, because we played well in the second half of the match, and showed that we can threaten any opponent, just like we believe we can do tomorrow against the Red Star. We always want to outplay, because it is our coaching philosophy. That’s how we want to play tomorrow in Belgrade, but also on Thursday against APOEL, where the entire sports public expect to see the real Vojvodina – Neziri stated.
