On Thursday, Vojvodina will face Radnički Niš in the quarterfinals of the Serbian Cup, and coach Radoslav Batak wishes his team a victory.
He pointed out that the Serbian Cup is extremely important and that he wants his team to reach the semi-finals.
– The match in Niš is of great importance, the quarter-final of the Cup of our country, and we prepared accordingly. We believe we can make it to the semi-finals, especially since we played well last game. There is no reason why the players should not give a good game now, with a good approach. Although we have to mention that since our first game in Niš, since we arrived, we haven’t won away from home. The players must understand that we must have continuity if we want to be a winning team and if we want to be in a club like Vojvodina. We have to understand that matches are not divided into home and away matches. We have a serious schedule waiting for us until the end and we want to enter the finish of the season as befits a club like Vojvodina and win as high a ranking as possible. To begin with, I hope that tomorrow with a good game and result we will enter the semi-finals. Tomorrow we will not be able to count on Lazarević, who is suspended, and Bjeković, who is still injured. Vitas is coming back, Uroš Nikolić as well, Malbašić feels pain in his collarbone due to an awkward fall in the last game, but he is 99% ready – said Batak.
He also referred to the result crisis of tomorrow’s opponent and believes that it will not be a mitigating circumstance.
– I don’t expect that there will be even an iota of mitigating circumstances, because they will be maximally concentrated and focused. We don’t get into how important it is to them, because we know how important it is to us and we only want entry to the semi-finals – concluded Batak.
