The coach of Vojvodina, Radoslav Batak, pointed out that his team is one step closer to achieving its goal, which is placement in Europe.
After the victory over Radnički in Niš and placement in the semi-finals of the Serbian Cup, Vojvodina is visiting another direct rival in the fight for Europe, Čukaricki, on Monday, and Batak wants his team to continue its positive streak.
– Yesterday, we took a big step towards the placement of Vojvodina in Europe, however, theoretically, we enter the game on Monday with the desire to confirm and ensure that. We are going to win every match, we respect every opponent, especially Čukarički, whom we beat in the last game after five years. Our goal is known, which is to go to Europe, and theoretically with three or one point won, we would achieve that. We still haven’t met our goal and that’s why we will continue to work hard to be better. We also have to recover and prepare as well as possible, because we have a tight schedule until the end. We play against teams that are at the top of our football, including the final of the Cup. This is a real opportunity to measure ourselves, to see where we are and what we are and to see what our future holds. We have to understand that we don’t live on the past and that we enter every game focused and ready to win. We will see today after yesterday’s game how the players feel and that we have the most ready first 11 on Monday. However, from the first day we arrived, we have been saying that the best 11 is the whole team and that each player is important to us and that each of them participated in every point won – said Batak.
Although the goal is close, Batak does not want the positive streak of 21 games without defeat to end.
– The pressure is still there, why should we end the streak and lose a game. From the first day I’ve been here, I’ve been telling the players that I take every defeat personally, and that’s how it was when I was a player. I am a person who does not like to lose even in unofficial matches. The pressure we have is sporting and we want to remain competitors until the end. The players on the field must know our principles and everyone’s obligations and that in the end we always think about the result and the final goal – stressed Batak.
Finally, he reflected on the situation at the end of the game in Niš and the missed penalty by Vukčević.
– We will analyze today, I have not seen anything other than failures. We have an agreement before each game who takes the penalty, who interrupts and we will comment on everything today. I don’t believe that anyone wanted the players to do anything on purpose. Fortunately, there was a minute or two left to the end – said Batak.
The match Čukarički – Vojvodina is scheduled for Monday at 6 PM.
