Vojvodina coach Radoslav Batak is satisfied after his team’s victory over Novi Pazar.
The Old Lady defeated Novi Pazar today with a score of 2-0, thus ending the regular season with a victory.
– We knew that a demanding game was waiting for us. We entered a little unclear with some changes in the team, which I announced before the match due to suspensions and injuries, because both Topić and Vitas had to play under injections. In the second half, we played more offensively and it bore fruit. In the end, we deservedly won. We turn to the next game against this same rival, which will be a little unusual, because it is not easy to play against the same opponent in such a short space of time. We will prepare as well as possible and try to beat Novi Pazar twice in a row. We continue to work, it’s not easy for anyone, but we know our goal, which is Europe and for Vojvodina to be ranked as high as possible – said Batak.
He explained why Vojvodina played better after the halftime break.
– In the second half, we were more offensive, we inserted another striker instead of a midfielder and it paid off for us. We knew that we had to be even better in the defensive phase, that is, when we lose the ball, because in every attack we attacked with five players and sometimes with Lazarević as the sixth – Batak pointed out.
Today, Vojvodina registered a record 17th match without defeat, but Batak is only thinking about the next successes and results.
– My colleague Rastavac was there before me, that’s good for Vojvodina, however, we won’t pay attention to those records, we just want to get positive results and keep winning – said Batak.
This was followed by a question on the minutes of Veljko Simić, who came back from the bench.
– I said from the first day that there are no best players, but twenty or so players. Apart from the goalkeeper, everyone else rotated, because you have ups and downs in form, games on four days, injuries. Veljko was sick, before him was Nikolić, Topić’s knee has been hurting for a month, Zukić was hit in the calf, Bjeković is still injured. That’s why we have to dedicate ourselves to each player and go together from game to game – says Batak.
Coach of Voša criticized his players after relaxing in the finish on his debut in Niš, but he says that Novi Pazar’s chances today were not the result of relaxation.
– It was not the same case of relaxation as in Niš, but some decisions contributed to this today. Every coach wants his team to score as many goals as possible and not concede any, but sometimes that is not possible. Today it was important that we did not fall physically, that there was no drop in concentration and that in the end I had to be satisfied. We must be disciplined until the very end, because one goal can change everything – concluded Batak.
At the start of the playoffs, Voša will also play against Novi Pazar at Karađorđe.
