Vojvodina coach Radoslav Batak believes that better play in the second half contributed to his team winning a point in the derby with TSC.
The Old Lady drew today in Bačka Topola with the score 1:1, and Batak especially emphasized the change in his team’s game in the second half.
– I’m not satisfied with the game in the first half, we were late with the ball, we were late with decisions. We knew how dangerous TSC was, but we played better in the second half. Energetically, we acted better, but in general we must and can do better. All congratulations to my colleague on a great game, and in the end we have to be satisfied with this point – said Batak.
He explained his tactical decisions and approach to the game in the first and second half.
– In the second half, we played much more freely, without pressure to see if we would make mistakes. The importance of the game, the fact that it is a derby, adds to that, and that creates pressure. Our plan was to play in a pressing 5-3-2, but in the second half we were closer to the ball and faster in passing. When we broke free, those same players were on the field in the 60th minute and they were much better, because football is a matter of timing, and that’s why concentration, head and making the right decisions are important – concluded Batak.
In the next round, Vojvodina welcomes Novi Pazar on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
