The coach of Vojvodina FC Božidar Bandović was not pleased with the game and result after a defeat against Čukarički.

The players of Vojvodina FC lost today with the result 2:3, and after the match Bandović pinpointed that his players weren’t on the level of their previous matches.

  • I congratulate the opponent on the victory. After many good matches, today we entered the game in a very bad way. Čukarički was a compact team, without possessions, second ball, counter attack. We had a very bad day, and we were not good in the first half. We made some changes, scored two goals, but when I look at the entire game, we didn’t rise to the occasion. Everything that we were doing well in the previous matches, we failed to find today. We have to analyze everything, and return to the previous level in the remaining three games. I believe in these boys, and I wouldn’t say they were relaxed, it was just a bad day, as simple as that. The rival was compact, and I congratulate them once again on the victory – Bandović said.

 

He also responded to the question about the absence of Sery, who was suspended.

  • You know that in all the matches we had possession and created chances, now we had possession, but it was more difficult to create chance. The fact is that we had had possession against a low defence, and won matches. The rival punished us today from the counter attacks, and certainly fast and quality players can punish such a performance. We cannot say that this team depends on only one player, even though Sery has showed that he is one of the best in the league. But even without him, if we played like we could, his absence would have gone unnoticed – Bandović highlighted.

In the end, he reflected on the fact that we are seeing a large number of goals in the play-offs.

  • When there are goals, that is good for the football fans. As for my team, we gave goals because we played well as a team. But, I am personally as a coach not pleased because we need to receive less goals, and that is something we need to work on – Bandović concluded.
