The coach of Vojvodina FC, Božidar Bandović is expecting a diffuclt match against Radnički 1923, but he believes in his team and the placement to the finals of the Serbian Cup.

The players of the Old Lady are playing against the team of Radnički 1923 on Wednesday at 4 pm, at Čika Dača stadium in the semi-finals of the Serbian Cup, and Bandović is optimistic before this match.

  • We are facing a very important match, players, staff, club and the entire city. I think that we are ready, we are playing against one team that is showing constant stability and continuity, and that play well and are very dangerous. We are very brave, decisive and we have to be focused the entire time. It won’t be easy, but I believe in this team, and I want us all to achieve a mutual goal, with all due respect towards the opponent, who has been on a high level this entire season. I am pleased with the game, but these matches are different, and we have to be the best that we can be, because there is no re-match. As for the staff, Guram is back, Bjeka will join us after this match, Lazar Jovanović has back pain after the match for the Youth team, while Uroš Nikolić still cannot play because of his knee injury – Bandović stated.

He highlights that there won’t be many surprises because the teams know each other well.

  • I think we know each other well, but there are always some surprises during the match, and we will be ready to adapt to all situations, as I also said before the previous two games against TSC. The most important thing is that we are confident, and that we believe in what we do, and what we want from our performance. They certainly analyzed us in more games, and we know each other 80-90%. The game can be decided by the shades, and that is why I say that we need to be focused on all segments of the match, in the interruptions, the duels, and long balls. These are the matches decided by details, and one step ahead or back, can be very important. That is why we need to be fast, aggressive, and precise – Bandović highlighted.

He also reflected on the defeat against Kragujevac at the end of February, when Radnički celebrated with the result 2:1.

  • We started the first match well, and we played well, but we received a goal after a lost ball, and a bad setup, but we know that. For me as a coach, I had to adapt during that period. The second half we played much better, and we lost because of that one penalty. We know that it will be hard for us at their pitch – Bandović pinpointed.

The coach of Voša admits that it is not easy to recover in this tight schedule, but that the team is more refreshed than last week.

  • What we do between the matches is recovery and tactical analysis, where we focus on the mistakes that need to be corrected, and on recovering for the next match. The tempo is not easy, but we are ready and we have to be. We have some players with certain issues, but they are back now, and we will have more options for the starting lineup, and the entry from the bench. We should not be tired now, as we were after TSC – Bandović said.

Vojvodina has an excellent tradition in the penalty series in the Serbian Cup, and Bandović doesn’t hide that they have been preparing for that scenario.

  • We were preparing for the penalties too, but what I demand is for us to win the match in the regular 90 minutes. I don’t believe in luck, I believe in work, and that is why we work hard, but we are also ready for the penalties – Bandović revealed.

Finally, he reflected on the mistakes in the previous match in Bačka Topola, which he wants to correct.

  • We analyzed things which we did wrong, and agreed that is impermissible to open the match that badly, and receive two goals quickly. We were completely out of focus. We have to correct those things, we don’t have a lot of time in this tight schedule, and that is why focus is extremely important. We received the third goal after a bad reaction upon a lost ball, especially on the flank, when we had certain problems – Bandović concluded.

Vojvodina FC is organizing the transportation to Kragujevac, and they are hoping that with the support of their fans, and end up as winner, and secure placement to the new finals of the Serbian Cup.
