The coach of Vojvodina FC, Božidar Bandović believes that his team deserves support and believes that on Sunday the stadium would be full at the derby against the Red Star.

The players of the of the Old Lady are expecting the current champions of Serbia on Sunday at 5:30pm, and Bandović believes in another good game of his players.

  • I would like to congratulate the players once again on the placement to the finals of the Serbian Cup, as well as my staff, who play a great part in everything that you see on the pitch. We are expecting s derby between two great clubs on Sunday. The Red Star will win the championship, and since the arrival of my colleague and friend, Vladan Milojević, they are playing better and better, and they want to dominate. Red Star has quality players, but we are Vojvodina and we won’t change our approach and way of playing. When you give your best, there are no limits, everything is possible. As for the players, Bjeković trained well, Guram also, Nikolić is out of game due to his knee, and Aleksa is having a difficult time with his heel, due to which he wasn’t in the starting 11, but he is training again now. Đorđević will have an ultrasound of the back, and he is under a question mark, and if he isn’t in the game, we have some options and ideas on how to replace him, because Red Star is dangerous on that side, as well as all the positions in the attack. We have to be cautious and concentrated, because Red Star has players who can solve the match at any point, just like we have them – Bandović said.

In the short time period Vojvodina will be play two matches against the Red Star, because on May 23rd the duel of the finals of the Serbian Cup will be on program. Still, he believes that is not a problematic situation.

  • We have two matches, but it is not a difficult circumstance, the only thing is that until the finals we will have a lot of games, and we will have to focus on the recovery. They will analyze us, and we will analyze them, and try to reduce their good sides to the minimum, but also use some things to be more dangerous. They are no difficult circumstances, we are watching the games, analyzing and preparing. We certainly have a great respect towards the Red Star, it is not easy to be a champion and always win the games, and stay on that level. It is an honor to be actors of such a match, we are expecting a full stadium and a good match – Bandović highlighted.

 

He added that he is not expecting a more relaxed Red Star despite the fact that the guest team is close to the championship title.

  • I don’t think the Red Star will be relaxed because they are close to the title. In big clubs the pressure is always big, and they will want to show themselves the best they can, especially knowing their coach and that there won’t be calculations – Bandović highlighted.

Vojvodina is waiting for the victory against the Red Star at their stadium for longer than 10 years, and Bandović is hoping that his team will stop that tradition.

  • I agree that it is a very long period. As you know, maybe it is a miracle for someone, but I believe in miracles, and nobody can tell us what we can do, and what we can’t, that depends on us. We will give our all to win after 12 years, which is a great challenge for us – Bandović said.

The coach of Vojvodina FC invited the fans in the end, to support his team in large numbers, because of everything that have been doing this spring.

  • I believe that these players deserve a big audience and support from the stands. The feeling that I have, and I believe all of you who come to watch the games, you see the energy it carries. I say the same thing to my players, the way they are doing everything, they carry a specific energy, that is not simple and I believe that they deserve the best support. I believe that the full stadium, which is very important for us, on Sunday, and at each next game – Bandović concluded.
