The coach of Vojvodina FC is aware that his team needs a victory in the duel against Napredak.

The players of the Old Lady are expecting the team of Napredak on Sunday in the sixth round of Mozzart Bet Superleague of Serbia.

  • In the last month we played 8 matches, the rhythm was hard, which affected us in the last game, because we were not so fresh and were not on our level. We are expecting a difficult match, we are playing against a compact rival, who showed in the 1st round against Partizan that they could be dangerous. They have individuals like Bastajić and Karaklajić who deserve attention. We used this week to refresh the team, and for Radulović and Poletanović to return, and they trained regularly. I would like to use this opportunity to thank Carević and Jeličić and wish them all the best in the future career – Bandović said.

He pointed out that Vojvodina played well in the previous period, but the results were lacking, and he hopes to get back on the winning track.

  • One good match and good result will help us in the following period. I still believe that we played well, even though I know that the fans and the people around the club highlight that the results are missing. We had difficult matches and showed plenty of good things. I believe in this team and this game, and I think that we should continue down this road. You have to have a stomach to surpass all this and retain the atmosphere, and take responsibility for what we can do better, which is realization. It is impossible that we make so many chances, and that it doesn’t end up in a good result. We wanted a lot, we saw that we could achieve that, those games in Europe showed that we can compete, and in that duel with Maribor we deserved to pass due to our game, and that might have cost us emotionally. We saw some other big European teams who lost points in this period, and it is not easy to play on two fronts. Those are not excuses, I take the responsibility, because I made the selections and chose the team. I believe that everything will fall into place, we need to stay united and compact, both on the pitch and outside the pitch – Bandović highlighted.

The coach of Vojvodina FC agreed that the team will welcome the break after an exhausting period, and the travelling, and they are awaiting to return to Karađorđe.

  • First of all, we are not playing on our pitch, that is not an excuse, because we can’t wait to return to Karađorđe and play here. Secondly, the new players need some time to adapt, but they have already shown that they can help us. I believe that in the future the club will be financially pleased. We have an important match before us, it can be crucial for the shift in the season. In the last match we may not have been on our level, which is somehow logical after so many games and given the tempo. Will the break after Partizan help us, I believe it will – Bandović said.

In the end, he said that the pressure in the big club exists, and it is normal, but that he believes that this team will manage to win in this key game.

  • It is burdening, but in these moments the most important thing is that we had a whole week to prepare the best we can. The pressure is there, but we are in a great club, we have to win this time, and go for the victory in each game. The best thing is good training and preparation, it gives us confidence – Bandović concluded.
