Today, the players of Vojvodina FC are playing their third control match at preparations in Larnaca, and the opponent is Armenian Ararat FC.
This club was founded under the name Avan Academy in 2017, with headquarters in Yerevan. Their home stadium is ’’Yerevan Football Academy’’, with the capacity of only 1428 seats.
After less than a year of existence, the Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan took over the Club, and renamed it to Ararat- Moscow.
After achieving the promotion to the Premier League of Armenia in the first season, the club was renamed once again, this time to Ararat Armenia.
In their debut season, Ararat Armenia won the championship, and defended the title in the following year of 2020. Aside from these two titles, Ararat also won the Super Cup in 2019.
Since their first championship season, Ararat Armenia performed each year in the qualifications for the UEFA competitions, but never managed to reach the group stage. They had their greatest achievements in the season of 2019/2020, when they lost to Dudelange in the play-offs for the Europa League, and they repeated that same success the following season, when in the same round they lost to Red Star.
As for the team, the coach is the domestic expert, Vardan Minasyan who has a large number of international players in the team. The best scorer is Mohammed Yattara from Guinea, followed by the Nigerian player Tenton Yenne, as well as Jonathan Duarte (Columbia), Adriano Kastanheira (Portugal), Alemao (Brazil), Leo (Brazil), Cássio Scheid (Brazil).
Ararat FC is currently in the second place on the Premier League scoreboard, and the competition continues on February 23rd, when Voša’s rival will meet the leader on the scoreboard, Pyunik from Yerevan.
