Today, Vojvodina will play the penultimate friendly match of the preparations in Belek, and their opponent will be Akhmat from Grozny, currently the sixth-ranked team in the Russian Premier League. The match will be played on the field of the sports center Sueno, starting at 3 PM Serbian time.
Football club Akhmat was founded in 1958 under the name Terek and used that name until 2017, when it changed its name in honor of Akhmat Kadyrov, the former leader of the Chechen Republic. In its history, the club won only one trophy, the Russian Cup in 2004. Akhmat’s team performs in green and white equipment and plays as the host in a stadium with a capacity of 30,200 seats.
The coach of this team is 64-year-old Russian Sergey Tashuev, who has at his disposal a team whose value is estimated at around 26.33 million euros. In addition to the Russian players, the team also includes one player each from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, and there are also Serbian footballers Miroslav Bogosavac, who once played for Čukarički, and Miloš Šatara, who previously played for Mladost from Lučani. Of the Serbian players, Ognjen Koroman and Marko Šćepović previously played for Akhmat, and the most famous coach this club ever had was the Dutchman Ruud Gullit.
Vojvodina and Akhmat have played one friendly match so far, and that was during the winter preparations of 2021. The result was 1-1, and the scorers were Nižić in the 48th minute for Akhmat and Slavko Bralić in the 62nd minute for Vojvodina.
As for today’s match, the Manager Milan Rastavac will probably make up the first lineup from players who did not start yesterday’s match against Lokomotiv 1929. The red and white expedition in Belek was joined by the president of the club assembly, Milan N. Đukić, who was there yesterday to support the team in the match against Lokomotiv, and will be present at today’s match against Akhmat. The match will be broadcast directly on Novosadska TV, as well as on the Youtube channel of FK Vojvodina via the link:
